PDF2Go and ToolConvoy both handle the common PDF tasks — split, merge, compress, convert. The difference is whether the file is uploaded.
PDF2Go runs on pdf24’s servers. Free, no account required for basic tasks, and integrated with the broader pdf24 desktop suite for power users. The file is uploaded, processed, then deleted (in most cases — see the privacy policy).
ToolConvoy runs in your browser. The file is processed by JavaScript in the tab, never transmitted. Useful when you have a sensitive PDF you’d rather not upload.
If the file contains names, financial figures, or anything identifying, ToolConvoy is the safer choice. If you’re working with a non-sensitive document and want a familiar UI, PDF2Go (or pdf24’s desktop app) works well.
Both handle page-range operations, basic merges, and common format conversions. ToolConvoy currently does not offer OCR.
